Human Outreach Project	HOP Leadership Program The Human Outreach Project (HOP) Leadership Program is designed to develop leadership skills and foster global citizenship. HOP is a non-profit charitable organization (501c3). Borne out of a commitment to include humanitarian efforts as an integral component of World Wide Trekking expeditions, HOP has a special focus on the health and educational needs of children living in orphanages adjacent to expedition sites. Guided by a committed leadership team students in the HOP Leadership Program combine the challenge of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro 19,340’ the highest point on the African continent with a week-long service project conceptualized in partnership with the local community. Through these two intensive experiences students are challenged individually and as a group, gaining an understanding of what constitutes effective leadership in various contexts. Since 2010, the HOP Student Leadership and Global Citizen Program has been a major success, for both the participants and the new Tanzanian orphanage!
